POW Watch: Week ending January 24, 2022

Frank Nazar had himself a game.

And the U.S. National Team Development Program standout has been named the USHL Forward of the Week as a result.

The University of Michigan commit and 2022 NHL Draft eligible put up an impressive four points (one goal, three assists) in a NTDP 9-4 win over the Madison Capitols Saturday night.

Nazar leads the NTDP team with 42 points (16 goals, 26 assists) in 35 games and has the second best points-per-game of 1.54 in the USHL. The 17 year old Nazar slots in at No. 12 on the FCHockey’s Winter ranking for the 2022 draft.

Dyland Garand, selected in the fourth round (No. 103) of the 2020 NHL Draft by the New York Rangers, was named WHL Goaltender of the Week.

Garand posted a 1.50 goals-against average and .947 save percentage in a pair of victories last weekend. He leads the WHL with a 2.04 goals-against average and is tied for top spot among WHL goaltenders with 19 wins this season.
