POW Watch: Week ending January 17, 2022

David Goyette, eligible for the 2022 NHL Draft, has been named the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending January 17.

Goyette had seven points (five goals, two assists) during a stretch of three games to help the Wolves pick up five of a possible six points. The Sudbury Wolves forward is tied for the OHL’s rookie scoring lead with 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) over 31 games.

The 17 year old slots in at No. 49 on the FCHockey’s Winter ranking for the 2022 draft.

Tyler Brennan of the Prince George Cougars was named the Goaltender of the week in the WHL. The top-ranked goaltender for the 2022 draft had two road wins against the Vancouver Giants. He posted a 2-0-0 record with a 1.97 GAA and a .941 SV% for the sweep.
