A front-of-the-net camper, this winger shows strong ability to keep himself square to the puck. He has untapped speed potential, as he has grown quickly but hasn’t quite adjusted his stride to be more efficient. With speed and acceleration training, he should be an effective two-way forward. He has solid spatial awareness of not just himself, but everyone on the ice. Strong along the boards in puck battles. Though he does have inconsistent velocity on his shot. Not one to be asked to do a lot defensively, he still excels at the minor tasks he is given. He likes to move a lot and is rarely standing still. Not as much strength when stick handling with the puck. Uses his body to create separation and find empty spaces for himself. He has good forechecking ability and applies pressure when appropriate at both ends of the ice. Not afraid to throw his body around and land a check. Hard to get around man-to-man and on the forecheck. Shows really good vision with his playmaking and distribution of the puck. Much like in the offensive zone, when in his own end, he likes to move around a lot and is rarely standing still, constantly looking for open ice. Overall, with his size, compete level, and general strength for his positional awareness, he is certainly a nice project an NHL team can work on and develop over several years.
