POW Watch: Week Ending Dec. 20
Ty Tullio of the Oshawa Generals showed up, and rocked out.
Tullio nabbed Ontario Hockey League Player of the Week honors by posting seven points (four goals, three assists) in two games to help his team secure two wins over the weekend against the Ottawa 67’s and Peterborough Petes.
The Edmonton Oilers prospect scored a natural hat trick on Friday against the Ottawa 67s, leading the Generals to a 4-2 win. He followed up the next night by scoring a goal and adding three assists to help secure an 8-4 victory over the Peterborough Petes.
Tulio, who hails from Lakeshore, ON, was selected in the fifth round (No. 126) in the 2020 NHL Draft.
He currently leads the Generals with 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) in 26 games and sits tied for ninth in overall points in the OHL.
Another POW who had a strong week was Jordan Dumais of the Halifax Voyageurs. The QMJHL Player of the Week racked up eight points (three goals, five assists) in three games to help his team go 2-1-0.
Dumais is a 2022 NHL Draft eligible player who has been on fire lately and has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in his last five games.
He isn’t listed among FCHockey’s Winter ranking for the 2022 draft, but is ranked as a ‘C’ skater by NHL Central Scouting.
