2021 IIHF World Under-18s tournament awards
Matvei Michkov, eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft, was named the MVP of the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship.
The 16-year-old led the tournament in goals (12) and points (16). His goal total is the second-highest single-tournament total in Under-18s history. He was also named Best Forward, and was voted to the tournament all-star team.
Aleksi Heimosalmi (🇫🇮) was named the tournament’s best defenseman. Benjamin Gaudreau (🇨🇦) was named the tournament’s top goaltender.
Joining Michkov and Heimosalmi on the media all-star team was goaltender Sergei Ivanov (🇷🇺), defenseman Brandt Clarke (🇨🇦), and forwards Connor Bedard (🇨🇦) and Samu Tuomaala (🇫🇮).
