Lindbom is a calm, athletic goalie who is quick in his reflexes and has a great technique. He has great awareness, and his tracking of the puck and ability to read the play is maybe his of his best skills. He has the skill to read a pass correctly and make a calm, smooth change in positioning thanks to his skating and quick movement, but he is also tall enough to track the puck successfully when there is traffic in front of him. This helps him to see passes, shots and how the game evolves around him, which contributes to him having great patience and strong positional play. He is really quick and explosive in his reflexes and movement, and he can make saves when he has almost no time to react to shots. He also has great post play and uses the posts both to cover his net, while also using them to push away if he needs some extra speed to recover. He has overall good skating technique with active feet and movement. Lindbom has a good technique and has no obvious problems with high shots, because he always keeps his torso up, which helps him cover much of the net up high. Lindbom is active with his stick and is a decent stickhandler, and he makes good short passes and strong long-range passes. He is very competitive and does a good job fighting for control of his crease when there is traffic around him. One of the issues Lindbom has is his rebound control. He has good rebound control with his pads but has some issues when making saves with his upper body. He isn’t very big and has trouble naturally covering the net with his frame. Had a nice showing internationally for Sweden at the recent U18 tournament, which helped overcome a lack of games with his club team. Still needs to prove he can handle a starter’s workload over the course of a season.
