A smooth skating and powerful defender, he’s solid on his skates and it helps him during board battles and physical play. His skating is elite; his crossovers are fun to watch, and his lateral movement and strong backwards skating are major benefits to his game. His above average skating also helps him have a good gap control and with his long reach he can break up potential scoring opportunities. Good poke check abilities with an active stick, it’s hard to get in the defensive zone when he’s on the ice. In front of his own net, he pushes out players to help his goalie see pucks. Smart, good positioning defensively though he needs to work on his cross-ice passing accuracy. Offensively, his one-timer is powerful, his wrist shot is accurate, and he hits the net regularly. He is a threat on the powerplay with his shooting abilities and confidence. His passing skills are accurate in the offensive zone and he moves the puck quickly and with ease. He is a valuable puck moving defender and efficient at bringing the puck into the offensive zone because he is very hard to knock off his skates.  Because of his big frame, he protects the puck very well down low for easy breakouts. Very smart, not the flashiest player on the ice but makes good decisions and plays a solid game. Work ethic is very high, he pays attentions to the small details and is very focused and reliable.
