Halliday’s skating is average; while he can deliver tight turns his speed could use some pep. As a straight-line type skater, he does not have great speed but enough to make him difficult to play against. Solid on his crossovers but could use more drive to consistently keep his feet moving. Gets a little wild…

Halliday’s skating is average; while he can deliver tight turns his speed could use some pep. As a straight-line type skater, he does not have great speed but enough to make him difficult to play against. Solid on his crossovers but could use more drive to consistently keep his feet moving. Gets a little wild with his feet sometimes so cleaning up his stride will be key in the future. He is a player that uses his size to his advantage in the offensive zone and while he could be more aggressive, he is still able to come out of puck battles victorious often. His shot is average and while it has some jump when it comes off the stick, he could better use his size to his advantage. He tends to pass more than shoot and while he has solid playmaking skills, could use his size to drive to the net better. Always has his head up to make plays happen and finds his teammates well as he shields off defenders while protecting the puck. Tough to knock him off his skates, strong on his legs and tough in corners. Won’t beat you with his stickhandling but will come away with the puck due to his large frame. Defensively, shows a system type approach and seems to be very coachable. He is responsible in his own end, not getting out of position and trusts his teammates. Knows where he should be and while he could add some nastiness to his game, he plays a solid defensive game, nothing flashy.
