Pashin is a smaller player who plays a prototypical Russian game, showing great skating ability and elite puck skills. He can keep up with a fast game, opening the ice with quick edge work and a dynamic first couple strides that separate himself from others. His game is less methodical than energizing as he does think the game quickly but is more erratic and active in the play by bombarding his opponents with heavy doses of skill. He is nimble on his feet to elude checks and has the dexterity with the puck on his stick to baffle opponents and generate previously guarded opportunities. He’s highly opportunistic and can pounce to stick handle through coverage or throw quick volume shots at net with little regard for precision unless there’s time and space, which he tends to get when putting himself into strong offensive positions consistently. He’s an above average passer and can connect with teammates but does try to get too cute sometimes and can get caught up trying to overcomplicate plays. He lacks in the department of taking good routes to pucks in defensive positions, instead circling and waiting for a loose puck to pounce on. He could get his hands a little dirtier in his own end and can sometimes be too easy to bump off the puck. Overall, he sometimes struggles to consistently get into the best positions to make offensive plays and will need to round out his consistency with and without the puck.
