Owen Power will reportedly represent Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship.

The tournament will be held from May 21 to June 6 in Riga, Latvia.

Power, No. 6 in FCHockey’s Spring ranking for the 2021 NHL Draft, had 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) in 26 games as a freshman with the University of Michigan. He was named to the NCAA (B1G) All-Rookie Team, and Second All-Star Team. He was finished his season as a finalist for the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Year and was an initial finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.

Matthew Beniers, teammates with Power at Michigan and the No. 4 ranked prospect in 2021, could also participate in the tournament with Team USA, according to Chris Peters of Hockey Sense.
