McNelis is a a solid skater, a bit upright, which doesn’t help out his small frame in making him strong on the puck, but he’s quite fast and effective in transition. He’s constantly watching the play and curling around in his zone so that he has space and momentum to explode out of his end once he or his linemates get the puck.
