North Vancouver, BCBedard is an elite, creative forward who has an ability to drive play and make a difference in all three zones. His mobility, vision and shot all stands out compared to his peers. His great low base allows him to create separation from his opponent, using a mixture of lateral movements to beat defenders wide. He plays a strong east-west game, using his edges to make tight cuts in the offensive zone while putting the puck past defenders to get a quick shot on net. His shooting mechanics are elite, generating a ton of torque in his shot with strong hip rotation and an ability to get it off in stride. He was not afraid to battle for positioning in front of the net and was hard to knock out of position. Defensively, he was in position on the breakout and used a quick stick to cause turnovers. In terms of improvement, not much can be pointed out for Bedard but building up his strength is always something that he should continue to do given his size. Overall, Bedard is a highly creative player who makes those around him better. He has tons of upside but building strength should be a continued focus. He rightfully sits atop the list of 2023 NHL Draft eligible players.
