Karpukhin was easily one of my favourite Russian defenders in this game. He played on the second penalty killing unit and spent a bulk of the power play time running the point. On the power play he was moving the puck very well, finally pounces on a lane and shooting across the point to get a quick point shot off through a tight lane at the goalie’s chest.
