Despite having good size, Valiev’s skating is sketchy; he doesn’t have a long powerful stride, so his speed comes from having quick feet. Isn’t fluid coming out of transitions or crossovers- its like his legs stop and he takes that ‘big step’ that you see from novice skaters (re: ME).
