A massive physical specimen who still has a long ways to go before fully filling out his frame. Anufriyev has high-level athleticism for a player his size and has plus level edgework allowing him to change directions with ease. An solid defender, both in tight spaces and while on the rush. Using his size and his reach to take away space and knock pucks of attacking player’s sticks. He isn’t fast but he can close in on players in the corners quickly because of his size, using his stick to disrupt passing lanes. With his size he isn’t scared to engage physically, he forces people out of the shooting lanes and eliminates them on rebound chances. He has a decent shot, with his size he can generate a ton of power when he winds up for slapshots but has issues with accuracy, if he can clean that up he will be a threat from the point. Puck control is a real problem for him, struggling when he tries to get involved offensively and prone to turning the puck over when he tries to create for his teammates. His size and athleticism are appealing and there’s enough to like about his game to see him potentially developing into a shutdown defender who can have success on the penalty kill.
