Mancini was another OHL player who missed out on a crucial year of development in his draft year due to the pandemic. He played a lot during the PBHH Erie Showcase, trying to put forth a strong showing for scouts. He has strong two-way capabilities; consistency will be the key for him to taking the next step but Mancini has flashed strong skills on both ends of the ice. His skating his above-average he has a smooth stride and can keep up with the play, does get beat wide from time to time but has an understanding of when to use his stick to break up opposing rush attempts. On offense, he’s capable of jumping into the rush because he makes smart simple passes that allow his team to transition to their attack. His gap control needs to be polished a little more, he relies too much on his reach while defending one-on-one situations and while it works for him at the junior level, professionals will be able to exploit that and take advantage of this tendency. The tools are there for Mancini, if he can clean up his gap control and become more consistent with his decision making in the offensive zone, he has the potential to be a bottom-pairing guy who can play a multi-dimensional game.
