A raw winger, he is an all-effort skater who needs to work on his speed and explosiveness. He’s a bigger, wide track skater who won’t blow anyone away with his speed but has some power and agility to get his frame into tight ice. He’s a rather simple player who is stable on his feet and excels in puck battles and coming away with pucks on the wall. He’s not often going to think outside the box and consistently show savvy plays as he is more of the muscle and a heavy net presence. He doesn’t take a lot of shots as he prefers to drive to the net and take his chances in tight. His shot does need work and he seems to prefer to create a presence rather than a scoring opportunity. While he has size and smarts, he doesn’t seem to have an offensive touch. Defensively, he provides a rugged two-way brand of puck with accountability and will chase the puck and player on the backcheck. His compete level is high and he is responsible in his own zone, putting the work in along the dirty areas of the ice. He may not stand out in any one area, but he is rounded in all three zones of the ice. He uses his smarts to be someone who can be relied on for special teams, and while he won’t likely be the flashiest of players or a game breaker, he is raw and mouldable.
