While he isn’t particularly flashy, he is a solid and reliable forward who is known for his hockey IQ and vision. His skating needs work, but he has shown improvement over the past season. He can dictate the pace of the attack and drive the play. A point producer, he is a strong passer who reads the play and makes tape-to-tape passes. While he has a quick release shot, he needs to work on making it more potent. His head is always on a swivel and he can direct the play. He shows good instincts and is willing to work hard to get to the puck first and shows poise when he has it. Although he is a fast and strong skater, his best plays come because of his ability to make quick decisions by reading the play. He plays with an edge to his game and the puck seems to follow him on the ice. He can be predictable when it comes to quarterbacking the play, so he will have to work on that once opponents catch on to his style. He should use his skill to drive to the net more. Defensively, he uses his vision to read the play before it happens. Overall, he is a player with a lot of potential with vision you can’t teach. He can add more explosive skills to his game over time.
