A speedy and efficient center with a really good skate ethic. He’s able to skate up ice and make plays in the offensive zone while being very accurate with his passing. Able to stop quickly in desperate moments and is strong on his edges. Later in games, he tends to lose that consistency on the edges though, and needs to work on his overall skating technique. He has a tendency to take wide turns and lose his balance. While moving slower, he shows his solid mobility. Willing to make a quick move or deke around an opponent chasing him. Pressures well and is able to force the play around him to change. Rushes the net every opportunity and isn’t afraid to go hard to the net. Shows off a hard shot when the pucks end up on his stick. Very good at reading plays and getting into an open position to receive a safe pass. When entering the zone, he finds the lanes effectively and knows how to gain the ice. Tends to stick to the perimeter and doesn’t drive play to the net. Very talented with puckhandling, but he does hold the puck a little too long, leading to costly turnovers. Lacks the ability to slow down the pace of the game. Plenty of on-ice IQ and understands positioning. Can make more of an impact in his own zone.
