Morrison has been a hit-and-miss player on most occasions this season and lacks consistency in his game. While he is a decent skater who has improved his quickness year-over-year, he is no more than a slightly above-average skater. He has good top speed, but his edgework is average and his agility is subpar at times. This makes him a bit limited in transition, working best as the secondary option and an outlet if the primary puck carrier needs it. He flashes potential, specifically as a goal-scorer who possesses a very good shot, which is his main weapon, but it remains inconsistent.  He needs to work on locating his shot a bit more efficiently as he misses the net a bit more often than not, especially for a player whose primary weapon is his shot. The lack of confidence with the puck is palpable and he often bobbles the puck when under pressure. In the offensive zone, he is a triggerman more than anything, though he can make crisp passes when he spots an open teammate. He is decent along the boards, winning 50/50 battles at an average rate. Defensively, he is average and while he has an active stick, he doesn’t engage physically often but he uses good stickwork along the boards to retrieve pucks and make outlet passes. Overall, he has some of the tools to be successful at the next level, but he lacks confidence and consistency to make him a constant threat. He is a project a team may take a chance on.
