An inventive and practical winger though he isn’t the flashiest skater. Posture also limits his ability to be cerebral or powerful, and he lacks agility and speed. Still has enough functionality to be effective. Less than dynamic at filling a lane or striding in a linear path, but he can accelerate when given space. Sensible when it comes to getting the most out of the wing position. Able to set up proactive plays for space, but stumbles to combine all the layers together to make an impact. Effective at hiding in plain sight, which makes him dangerous. Good sense of the forecheck. Patient when it comes to taking shots, but only shoots when he has a clear shot. Accurate shot and it’s rarely blocked by opposing defenders. Still needs to shoot more often to build up that much needed confidence. He’s quick to get rid of the puck, and struggles to receive passes on the backhand. On the positive side, his soft hands come in handy on the power play, as he’s able to move the puck on to his open teammates in front. Reliable and standard platform skills that allow him to remain in position and add pressure on the defense. Does tend to float and become seemingly disengaged. Has to be more consistent and work at fine-tuning the all-around player skillsets.
