A skilled puck-moving offensive defenseman, Misyul has a smooth stride and great top speed. He owns good acceleration and his transitions are very fluid. Previously a forward, he became a defenseman just four years ago. He has a bit of a loose gap when defending rushes, which gives too much time and space to opposing attackers. Still, he manages to push attackers along the boards with his good stick work and fluid backward skating. He has decent strength and is relatively effective in board battles. He cleans the crease effectively to let his goalie see the puck and doesn’t let anyone jump on rebounds. His man-on-man coverage is already very good, but he can get caught watching the puck and needs to improve his defensive awareness. Utilized a lot on the penalty kill, he does a good job of blocking pass options with his active stick. He moves the puck up the ice effortlessly and can create multiple controlled zone entries with ease. He always stays close to the attack in rushes, ready to jump in as the odd man. He’s very confident with the puck and displays good maturity for his age. His vision isn’t particularly impressive and he’s not that creative. He prefers to make simple dump-ins and short passes to his closest teammate. He has all the tools to become a great puck-moving defenseman.
