Bantle is one of the most under-the-radar prospects in this year’s draft class, though he needs to work on his skating. An average skater due to an upright position in his stride, could get more speed as he adds power but shows strength on his skates. He’s a force to be reckoned below the faceoff dots and along the boards because of his huge size and sublime hand-eye coordination with his stick. He comes out of 50-50 battles with the puck at an incredible success rate, something that will be very valuable at the professional level. For such a big guy, he is surprisingly deft with his stick, picking pockets in tight traffic and deflecting passes. His hands are smooth, and he does a great job of dropping his shoulder or turning his body to help protect the puck. He’s a skilled passer, but lacks a little bit of creativity, which hurts his playmaking. His shot is quite fast and hard, and he can get it off from tough angles. He is more than capable of scoring greasy goals around the crease because he’s so good at winning space.  Displays a keen hockey sense, as he can find quiet areas of the ice and does a great job of knowing when to fly his defensive zone so he can get behind enemy defenders and start an odd-man rush. He also uses his long reach to his advantage defensively but at times can get caught floating around watching the play when not engaged.
