FCHockey releases Final ranking for 2021 NHL Draft

A streaky offensive-minded player who flashes high-end creativity on occasion. Schimek is a player that goes hot and cold, but when he’s hot he’s one of the more dangerous players on the ice. He has quick feet that allow him to get up to speed quickly, and possesses above average top-level speed with the puck on his stick. Schimek can make plays in tight spaces because of his vision and his ability to control the puck through traffic. He has good playmaking instincts and is capable of making any pass on the ice, but he needs to learn how to slow the game down and take his time with the puck. At times his feet and hands are moving faster than his mind and he struggles to keep up with the pace of his body and because of this he struggles with puck security. You can see the potential in his game, he flashes those high-end skill plays that excite those who watch him but he struggles with consistency and will need to find a way to bring his best game on a more regular basis before teams can be confident in his ability to contribute at the NHL level. He’s committed to the NCAA and his college career will go a long way in determining if he can make it in the NHL.
