FC releases Winter ranking for 2019 NHL Draft

Tsyplakov stands out as a solid and steady presence for SKA and one of the benefits to his game is how physically developed he is already. He’s only listed at 6’1”, 185 lbs, but he really bullies his way around the ice and shows excellent strength in both his upper and lower body. He drives to the net with purpose and is a fixture at the net front. He’s also a huge asset along the wall and can wear a defense down with his ability to rag the puck down low in the cycle.  He is not a player with many holes in his game; however, he could clean up his stride a little bit to improve his skating. It’s not a glaring issue, but it needs improvement. While he isn’t a highly offensive player, he handles the puck with poise and shows the patience to find teammates with passes. He’s unlikely to put up big numbers but possession will not die with him either. He will likely earn his keep with his play without the puck. He is a very sound defensive player and he shows an extra gear of effort when tracking back into his own zone. He also uses his strength to separate the opposition from the puck. Overall, the complete package he brings to the table will be desirable. He’s a player that can be trusted to play difficult minutes in difficult situations and do so with an air of calm, which makes him a high floor, low ceiling option in the middle rounds.
