FC releases Spring ranking for 2020 NHL Draft

As an offensive-minded defenseman, he is constantly involved in offensive zone plays. His forward stride has power and he can cover a lot of ground after gaining momentum. However, his lateral mobility and crosses lack refinement and he tends to be sluggish when transitioning.  His below average skating needs work as it tends to leave him vulnerable to opponents, especially since he doesn’t use his size to his advantage. He looks unbalanced on his skates at times. His defensive play needs work and he struggles to read the play quick and doesn’t engage in the physical play in his own end, often losing puck battles. While he shows good vision and isn’t afraid to jump into the rush, he needs to put more effort into creating plays on the ice with his physical play. His shot is an offensive threat but the rest of his offensive game needs work. He has high offensive sense for a defenseman and reads the play well when passing to his teammates. He is a very dangerous player at the offensive blueline because of how accurately and how heavily he can move the puck, whether it’s by a pass or a shot. He puts a lot of strength and force down on his stick and can easily put pucks where he wants them to go. Overall, he needs to learn to use his big frame to his advantage. Trusted for offensive zones starts but rarely used for penalty killing.  Could be a long-term project.
