Prueter is a speedy, shifty, agile center who plays an up-tempo style of game. Though still a bit raw overall, he can be a flashy forward with quick acceleration and soft hands around the net. However, he too often gets lost in the play, simply watching it pass him by for much of the game.  He seems more suited to be a set-up man than someone who will score a lot of goals himself but using his speed to be first on the puck, as well as his smarts and good passing ability could make him a dangerous playmaker. He has a solid wrist shot with a quick release and he can get himself open and into dangerous scoring positions. He is a reliable player who can be depended on for special teams and often plays a significant role on the  penalty kill unit. He shows that he can make smart and quick decisions both at even strength and on the power play, and he shows a willingness to rotate positions to open shooting lanes and create different looks for the penalty killers. A versatile two-way player who can be relied on at both ends of the ice and while he doesn’t stand out in any one area, he has skill in most. He competes hard but will need to start elevating his overall game to excel at the next level. His hockey sense and high IQ makes him a more desirable pick.
