Wilsby is a solid and reliable overage defenseman who has spent the most time playing in the Allsvenskan this season. He is a strong skater with great lateral movement, good edge work and can reach a decent top speed, both with and without the puck. He is strong on his skates and his lower body is stronger than one could imagine seeing his posture, which helps him to mark his ground in board battles and makes it hard for the opposing forward to escape him along the walls. Although he is not the biggest defender, he never shies away from physical contact, especially along the boards, where he is taking on battles. He often closes the gap physically despite his smaller size. Plays a perfect positioning game defensively and he is always aware of his mark and follows opponents around to take them out of the game. He also possesses very solid timing with his stick and is good in poking away pucks. Possesses a hard shot from the point and combined with his smarts, it makes him a dangerous weapon on the power play. As a defenseman with offensive upside, he is a good passer and has decent vision. He owns a solid wrist shot with a quick release. He is a puck carrying defenseman, but his puck handling can be inconsistent sometimes as he can look confident with the puck one minute, then make a simple mistake and lose the puck the next.
