Suzuki among eligibles named to Team OHL

Ryan Suzuki will get to showcase himself with Team OHL.

Suzuki, sixth in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking for the 2019 NHL Draft, was among the 31 named to Team OHL and will participate in Game 4 of the 2018 Canada Russia Series.

Team OHL will play opposite the Russian National Junior Team in Game 3 of the six-game cross Canada series in Sarnia on Nov. 8 and in Game 4 in Oshawa on Nov. 12. The series will begin with two games in the Western Hockey League and will wrap up with two games played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Suzuki, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, has 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in 10 games with the Barrie Colts this season. He also helped Canada to gold at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in August.

Defenseman Thomas Harley and goaltender Hunter Jones will also play one game in the series. Harley has nine points (three goals, six assists) in nine games with the Mississauga Steelheads this season; Jones, 18, is 8-2-0 with a 2.22 goals against average and a .938 save percentage for the Peterborough Petes this season.
