Sogaard named WHL Goaltender of the Week

Mads Sogaard of the Medicine Hat Tigers was named the WHL’s goaltender of the week Monday.

The 6-foot-7, 190-pound goalie stopped 85 of 88 shots for a .966 save percentage in two wins.

Sogaard, in his first season in the WHL, is 10-4-1-2 with a 2.39 goals against average, .931 save percentage and one shutout. His numbers have him ranked third in save percentage and fifth in goals against average among all WHL goaltenders.

The 18-year-old was selected in the first round (No. 32) of the 2018 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
