Schneider named to WHL’s Eastern All-Star Team

Braden Schneider of the Brandon Wheat Kings has been named to the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference First All-Star Team, the league announced Tuesday.

Schneider, No. 27 in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2020 NHL Draft, led Brandon’s defense in scoring with 42 points (seven goals, 35 assists) in 60 games to mark career-high totals in both assists and points categories.

Overall, he was tied for eighth in scoring by defensemen in the WHL’s Eastern Conference.

Schneider, who has 88 points (16 goals, 72 assists) in 185 career WHL regular-season games, was No. 31 in Future Considerations’ Preliminary ranking last spring, and has been positioned in the first round for the 2020 NHL Draft in each ranking since.
