Sanderson among invites to Summer Showcase

Seventeen American players eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft will attend the 2020 World Junior Summer Showcase scheduled for July 24 to August 1 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI.

USA Hockey announced the nine-day evaluation event roster Tuesday. The Unites States will not be joined at the showcase by Canada, Finland or Sweden this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

Defenseman Jake Sanderson of the National Team Development Program, No. 12 in FCHockey’s Final ranking for the 2020 draft, will headline the draft-eligible attendees.

Forwards Thomas Bordeleau (No. 31), Brendan Brisson (No. 41) and Sean Farrell (No. 44) were also invited to participate. Forward Matthew Beniers, eligible for the 2021 NHL Draft, will also attend.

The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship is scheduled this December in Edmonton and Red Deer, AB.
