Henry Mews among Canadian additions for 2024 World Under-18s
Henry Mews was among four members of the 2024 NHL Draft class added Monday to Canada’s entry at the 2024 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.
Canada announced its preliminary roster for the 2024 World Under-18s last week. The tournament will be held from April 25-May 5, in Espoo and Vantaa, Finland.
Mews is No. 16 in FCHockey’s Midterm ranking for the 2024 draft, released in February. He had 61 points (15 goals, 46 assists) in 65 regular-season games with the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League, and added five points (two goals, three assists) in 10 playoff games.
He’ll be joined by forwards Ollie Josephson of the Red Deer Rebels in the Western Hockey League, Maxim Masse of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, and defenseman Frankie Marrelli of Ottawa.
Goaltender Jack Ivankovic of the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft, was also added to the roster.
Canada’s roster sits at 24 for the tournament.
