Lavoie named CHL Player of the Week

Raphael Lavoie of the Halifax Mooseheads has been named Canadian Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending April 7.

Lavoie, 19th in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2019 NHL Draft, had nine points (six goals, three assists) with a plus-8 rating in four games.

The 18-year-old had a three-point effort versus the Quebec Remparts in Game 6 that ended in a 6-1 final, and added another point in the series-deciding game, a 3-1 win for the Mooseheads. He opened the second round with two goals and one assist in a 5-3 win against the Moncton Wildcats, and had another two goals in Game 2.

Lavoie, selected in the second round (No. 29) of the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft, had a personal-best 73 points (32 goals, 41 assists) in 62 games for Halifax this season. The total placed him third on the Mooseheads.
