Jones named CHL Goaltender of the Week

Hunter Jones started his season off on the right foot.

Jones was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the opening week of the regular season after winning both his starts, including a shutout victory, for a 1.50 goals against average and a .962 save percentage.

The 18-year-old Peterborough Petes goaltender, who was drafted in the fifth round (No. 89) in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection, made 75 saves in total, including 38 to earn first-star honors and his first Ontario Hockey League shutout against the Kingston Frontenacs.

Jones had a 5.14 goals against average and .866 save percentage in 15 appearances in 2017-18.
