Jenkins named OHL rookie of the month

Blade Jenkins of the Saginaw Spirit found a way to make his mark last month.

Jenkins was named Ontario Hockey League rookie of the month for November after leading all first-year skaters with 14 points (nine goals, five assists) and a plus-10 rating in 12 games. The 17-year-old had points in eight of those 12 games, including a pair of three-point efforts and his first career OHL hat-trick on Nov. 4 against the North Bay Battalion.

The 6-foot-1 left wing is second in OHL scoring with 18 points (11 goals, seven assists) in 25 games.

He was originally selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
