Hughes named USHL Forward of the Week

Jack Hughes had a pretty solid weekend.

Hughes, first in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2019 NHL Draft, had five points (three goals, two assists) and a plus-5 rating in two games for the National Team Development Program en route to being named United States Hockey League forward of the week.

The 17-year-old had two goals and an assist on Friday before adding a goal and an assist on Saturday. Both games were against the Lincoln Stars.

Hughes has 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) in 18 games in the USHL this season — second among all NTDP players. The Orlando, FL native is third among all U18 players in goals, and leads all NTDP players with 22 assists. He currently has 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in a five-game point streak, including four multi-point performances. He has 11 multi-point games this season.
