Fantilli commits to Steel

Adam Fantilli has signed a USHL tender agreement with the Chicago Steel.

Fantilli, a top prospect for the 2023 NHL Draft, signed the agreement for the 2020-21 season Wednesday.

“Adam Fantilli is a multi-dimensional center with many elite attributes,” Chicago general manager Ryan Hardy said in a release.

“One of the things that stuck out to us with Adam throughout the recruiting process was his maturity and his approach to his development. We are thrilled that he has chosen Chicago as the place to help facilitate growth in the next phase of his hockey career. I look forward to his progress under the watchful eye of our exceptional coaching and development staff.”

The 15-year-old registered 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) in 25 games with Kimball Union Academy in 2019-20, and represented Canada at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games. He had three points (two goals, one assist) in four games as an alternate captain in helping Canada to bronze the event.

Fantilli will be joined in Chicago by brother Luca, who was selected in the 19th round (No. 285) in the 2019 USHL Phase II Draft. Luca, who is committed to the University of Michigan, had 42 points (13 goals, 29 assists) in 35 games as a defenseman with Kimball Union this season.
