Dahlin named to Sweden’s preliminary roster

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, the top-ranked prospect for the 2018 NHL Draft, was among the 26 players named to Sweden’s preliminary roster for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship will be held from Dec. 26, 2017 – Jan. 5, 2018, in Buffalo, New York.

Dahlin, first in Future Considerations’ Fall ranking for the 2018 draft, has five goals and 11 points in 24 games with Frolunda this season. He had two points (one goal, one assist) in seven games with Sweden at the 2017 World Juniors, and also previously represented Sweden at the World Under-18 Championship last year.

Forward Isac Lundestrom, ranked 20th, was also named to the roster. Lundestrom has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 22 games with Lulea. He had one goal and five points in seven games for Sweden at the World Under-18’s in 2017.

Forwards Jacob Olofsson, 32nd, and David Gustafsson, 65th, were also named to the preliminary roster.
