Dahlin named all-star, top defenseman at World Juniors

Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was named the top defenseman at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Dahlin, first in Future Considerations’ Fall ranking for the 2018 NHL Draft, was also named to the tournament’s all-star team, as voted on by the media, after helping Sweden to a silver medal finish at the World Juniors. The 17-year-old blueliner finished the tournament with six points — all assists — and a plus-7 rating in seven games.

Forward Filip Zadina, ranked fifth, was also named to the tournament’s all-star team. Zadina finished with seven goals and eight points in seven games for the Czech Republic. He is the first Czech all-star since goalie Petr Mrazek in 2012.
