Celebrini cracks Canada’s roster for 2024 World Juniors
Macklin Celebrini is set to take on the World Juniors.
Celebrini, a top prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft, was one of 22 skaters named to Canada’s roster for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden beginning Dec. 26.
He is the lone first-time eligible on Canada’s roster.
Celebrini has 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 15 games for Boston University this season. When he departed for Canada’s selection camp, the 17-year-old led Hockey East and is third in the NCAA in points, and no freshman in the nation had scored more goals or recorded more points than Celebrini.
He is an early candidate to be selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft, expected to be held at Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28-29.
Celebrini received an ‘A’ grade in FCHockey’s Preliminary ranking for the 2024 draft, published in October.
