Canada names camp roster for U18 Worlds

Ty Smith of the Spokane Chiefs heads Canada’s training camp roster leading into the 2018 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

The tournament will be held in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk, Russia from Apr. 19-29.

Hockey Canada announced Smith among the group of 21 players invited to assemble for two pre-tournament games prior to the tournament.

Smith, 8th in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2018 NHL Draft, will be joined by several other first round candidates, including defensemen Ryan Merkley (25th) and Jonathan Tychonick (31st), and forwards Ty Dellandrea (34th), Jack McBain (36th) and Serron Noel (37th).
