Brink named WJAC MVP

Bobby Brink was named most valuable player of the 2018 World Junior A Challenge on Sunday.

Brink, who helped Team USA to its second gold medal in three years at the event, shared the tournament lead in scoring with Vasily Podkolzin of Russia with eight points. Brink also led the tournament with six assists.

Brink, 75th in Future Considerations’ Fall ranking for the 2019 NHL Draft, is second in United States Hockey League scoring with 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 19 games.

Podkolzin, ranked seventh, was named to the tournament’s all-star team.
