Hickey is a very good skater. Powerful is probably the best adjective to describe his skating. He has a strong base and is above average in most aspects of skating including balance, transitions, acceleration, speed and lateral movement. Hickey has decent puck skills. He is more than comfortable carrying the puck however he doesnt really show any dynamic or overly creative abilities with the puck....
