Ansons skating is average and he could improve his top speed and his first step from neutral, but he mostly keeps his feet moving so he’s rarely accelerating from zero. Strong on his feet, rarely losing speed while turning and evading players. His skating helps him get to the net on rushes and evade pressure in the offensive zone while protecting the puck along the boards. However, he needs to improve his edges and strides. He displays quick hands in tight, which makes him a high-risk, high-reward type of player. Very deceptive when in possession of the puck and moves the puck fast.  His passes are hard on the tape and he makes the smart play with the puck. He likes to rush hard towards the net and consistently looks for rebounds and loose pucks, which creates havoc in front of the net. It is a challenge for goaltenders to get clear sightlines when he is in front of them. He likes to shoot the puck from close to the net but will need to execute better and hit the net more to be a more effective scoring threat. Defensively, he has solid positioning and keeps his feet moving to cover as much territory as possible. He is consistent on the backcheck and likes to put pressure on the puck carrier. Uses his forecheck and poke check to disrupt plays. Overall, his compete level is high, and he is willing to put his body on the line to make a play.
