A responsible center who may not provide a ton of flash and elite level skills but he knows his role and plays it efficiently. He’s aggressive on the forecheck, disrupting his opponents timing on their breakouts and has a nose for the puck below the goal line. A defensively responsible player, he consistently remains in position and covers for his teammates when they wander out of position. His skating is bit choppy, he can keep up with the pace of play but has an odd form that could hold him back if not corrected. His puck skills aren’t elite, he isn’t the most creative player on the ice but he shows an ability to make plays with the puck. If he can work on his skating and puck skills his game could grow immensely because he’s already had solid production in the BCHL. With a commitment to the NCAA to further his career, Serdachny will have the time and resources to round out his game and he could turn into something at the next level. Responsible players who know how to play within their role are good finds in the latter rounds of the draft and he’s shown enough positives to warrant his name being in consideration for the 2021 NHL Draft.
