Quapp is a big-bodied goalie who can take away angles by challenging shooters with his size and positioning. He plays the position with an efficient, methodical approach. No overexaggerated movements, rather he moves calmly and quietly in his crease. It’s hard to get a gauge on his athleticism because of his playing style, he rarely has to move side-to-side and make athletic saves. With his glove hand he will want to work on catching the puck better, as he relies on using his glove to trap the puck against his body more than strictly catching it out of mid-air. With his methodical approach he struggles with rebound control and runs into trouble when he’s relied on to make more than one save. Playing against men at such a young age can be a tough adjustment for goalies, Quapp seems to fall into that category. He struggled this year at times and his numbers back that up. He could provide some organizational depth in the late rounds of the draft and given his size and calculated approach to the game he could be a long-term project that a team might take a chance on. If Quapp can receive high-level coaching and work on his technique a little bit, he could develop nicely and be a name to watch in the future.
