A small winger who provides a ton of energy for a player his size. Andreyev is deadly with the puck on his stick, carrying it through the neutral zone and has a knack for taking it to the high-danger areas despite being smaller in stature. He has great top-end speed and does not lose a step when he has the puck on his stick. A solid passer but is mainly effective when operating off the rush because he can use his speed to open up passing lanes for his teammates. He has the confidence and creativity to try and pull off highlight reel moves but will need to learn to pick his spots especially as he starts playing against stronger competition. His size doesn’t stop him from engaging in physical battles but because he’s smaller in both height and weight he can be outmuscled or overpowered easily by bigger opponents. Defensively he will need some improvement but he has a more polished game than you would think. He can get caught watching the puck at times but with his speed and his quick reaction time he can recover if he’s beat by his assignment. Andreyev has high-level offensive upside but will need to reach his ceiling if he wants to make an impact at the NHL level, but he’s the type of player teams will take a swing on at the end of the draft.
