Uba is a speedy two-way forward who shows that he can play the game with great pace and speed, but he sometimes struggles to gain separation in traffic. While he has above average straight away speed, he won’t wow you with it, but he can create a bit of separation between him and his opponents when chasing the puck. He displays good balance and an ability to utilize his edges to work his way around opponents to get the puck to open ice, though he often lacks the ability to judge when passing lanes are there and when they are closing. His shot can score at the junior level, but he lacks that high-end scoring finishing touch and may struggle at the NHL level. While he has a high tempo compete level and plays an aggressive style of game, he lacks the high danger skill with the puck or passing that teams will covet. He is good at retrieving the puck but sometimes lack the creative skills puck skills to be a constant threat when he has it.  Defensively, he isn’t afraid to get his body or stick into passing and shootings lanes and is trusted to play vital penalty kill minutes. While he brings a good physical and gritty presence to the ice, he is not a skill player by any means and will be at his best when gritting his teeth, getting to the dirty areas and getting the puck to the more skilled players.
