Geci had a strong season in 2019 playing in the U18 league in Finland. He was committed to Sarnia for 2020 but with the OHL season being cancelled he wasn’t able to play in any games during his draft year, putting him behind the eight-ball in terms of his draft stock. He’s got good size and has quick bursts of acceleration that allow him to get up and down the ice even without top-end speed. He controls the puck well, keeping it close to his body so he can maneuver around defenders while attacking on the rush. His best offensive trait is his passing, he has above average vision and can take advantage of open lanes with his passing ability. Defensively he can become puck focused in his own zone and wander out of position leaving a man open for scoring opportunities. He has some good traits that if developed will help him have an impact at higher levels, but all in all he doesn’t do anything spectacular when he’s on the ice. The lack of playing time this past season will really hurt him, he’s likely on the outside looking in in terms of getting drafted this year but with the right situation and proper coaching he could turn into a role player down the road.
